WebJan 26, 2008 · I have a book of Southeast Texas birds and tried going through the birds/songs. That is where I heard the purty, purty,purty of the Cardinal. And it is pretty close except I really hear more of the hard "T" in pretty rather than the softer "D" in purdy. Maybe I'll meet a bird watcher someday and ask them.
