You need to get a ridge reamer to cut it.You can leave the ridge and pull out the pistons.The pistons come out the bottom after you remove the crank...not out the top.Do not re-ring it until you remove the ridge.You stand a good chance of damaging one of the new rings if it smacks the ridge.
