The practice of redlining was weakened after the Fair Housing Act of 1968 was passed. It was further discouraged after the Community Reinvestment Act in 1977. WebDr. Charles H. Ford is a Professor of History at Norfolk State University. His presentation will provide a local perspective on the national civil rights movement and is in conjunction with the exhibit I AM A MAN: Civil Rights Photographs in the American South, 1960-1970 .
